Kompetenzen:	• Students analyze the theological foundations of Christmas and its transformation into a “festival of love” through selected Christmas pop songs. • Students create and implement ideas for communicating their insights on the connection between Christmas theology and pop culture to a broad audience. • Students evaluate the significance of Christmas in today’s society and the role of pop music in shaping the celebration, taking into account theological and cultural backgrounds.
Inhalte/Themen:	What does Christmas really mean in today’s world? And how has popular music shaped – or reshaped – our understanding of this central Christian festival? In this course, we explore the theology of Christmas through the lens of Christmas pop music. From Mariah Carey (the Queen of Christmas) to John Lennon, we examine how themes of love, hope, and incarnation are transformed and communicated in popular culture.
