Students will be able to
• name the subject matter, fields of research and basic findings of communication studies and journalism and journalism research,
• research literature relevant to journalism and communication studies in libraries and databases,
• cite academic literature and are able to work with reference management programs such as Citavi or Zotero
• write their first academic texts.
Content/topics:
Treatment of the subject matter and research fields of journalism/communication studies as well as the methods of working in communication studies. The lecture on this topic (2 SWS) is supplemented by a seminar (2 SWS).
