On sucessful completition ot this course students will understand the different concepts of poverty and inequality measures. Students will be able to carry output on empirical research related to poverty and inequality analysis.
Content/topics:
Students get a well-grounded introduction to poverty and inequality measurement
Content includes:
Concepts of Poverty
Poverty indication
Distribuions fo income and wealth
Discrimination of the labor-market
inequality indication
concepts of pro-poor-growth
social mobility
Empirical analysis of poverty and inequality with the statistics program "R"
Recommended prerequisites:
